Acne spot treatment becomes easier these days since there are various gels (e.g. clean & clear, neutrogena, clearasil), homemade and natural products, neoceuticals that are good for acne healing. Products that remove blemish have got vanishing formulas so take advantage of products against acne and fight with spots at home, you can forget about tinted skin. The article intends to review different products which help combat acne.

The causes of acne are unknown but it forms when hair follicles become blocked. Sebaceous glands which produce sebum produce to much of it and the oil isn't drained efficiently from the skin surface. Bacteria begin to gather just below the skin surface and they create whiteheads and blackheads. Although both can be easily removed, the blackheads drain much longer from the skin surface. The spot develops slowly and has several forms before becoming a large bump which is sore when we touch it. At the beginning of inflammation we can notice a papule (inflamed pore) which turns into a pastule after a couple of days.
There are several acne types which form blemishes.
1. Teen acne
During the adolescence period your organism produces a hormone called testosteron, it stimulates the sebaceous glands to produce sebum (oil) which is blocked below the skin surface. The development of acne is also induced genetically, acne appears in generations and is closely related to family history as genes have impact on skin thickness, or tendency to develop large skin pores and scars.
2. Adult acne
Adult acne is caused by many internal and external factors. First of all, all hormonal changes caused by stress, menstruation period, pregnancy affect production of acne. It can also be caused by improper exposure to sun which damages the skin and makes skin pores more susceptible to infections. Picking, squeezing and touching your face too often also brings about the blemish creation.
3. Rosacea
It is often mistaken for acne as its signs are very similar. They include flushing and blushing frequently as a reaction to temperature, medications, certain foods, stress or wind. Rosacea sufferers need to stick to follow to certain guidelines which prevent from development of this skin condition. The treatment given should be different than this prescribed for ordinary acne.
How to prevent yourself from acne
1. Change your eating habits: supplement your diet with soy milk, garlic mixed with water to wash face, lemon juice, products rich in zinc (lettuce, spinach, apricots, carrot, cabbage, mango, soybeans), vitamin B (eggs, liver, seaweed, peas, chicken) and E (oils, nuts, algae and mushrooms). Whole wheat, grains, soybean help also in removing excess grease from your organism.
2. Avoid too much washing: excessive washing doesn't help in acne removal, limit yourself to washing your face to twice a day. Use gentle cleansers which are "oil-free", "non-overdrying". Don't make your skin irritated by harsh washcloths.
3. Don't scrub your face as it may make the situation worse, smooth exfoliation is definitely better than using scrubs with large grains e.g. apricot shell, almond.
4. Exercise: practising sports is very good for your blood circulation so your skin condition improves at the same time. The only thing you have to do is to shower off immediately after exercising to remove heat and moisture which are a perfect ground for bacteria development.
5. No squeezing: you shouldn't squeeze your pimples under any circumstances, your fingernails aren't gentle enough and they destroy the skin layer. In this way you just insert bacteria deeper which will result in more spots on your face and transport bacteria from your hands onto your face.
6. Moisturize: moisturize your skin twice a day until your face is soft and delicate, that will balance the amount of sebum and help remove it more effectively.
Treatment
Many companies produce products for acne treatment so you can choose from a variety of gels, creams, lotions and cleansers. Search for products that contain resorcinol (e.g.Clearsil Adult Care), sulfur (Clearasil Adult Care), salicylic acid (oxy, clearasil, stri-dex) or bezoyl peroxide (clearasil, neutrogena, oxy-10, persa-gel).
If you fancy natural treatments and opt for herbal cures drink teas made from wild pansy, marigold, black elder, root of burdock, horsetail, aloe, lavender or juniper berry.
Scars
Acne scar removal is much more difficult than combating acne itself because they remain on face for a long time. There are many creams that intend to remove scarring which you can find at any pharmacy, dermatologists and doctors are also helpful as they may prescribe stronger medications and drug treatment so you don't have to limit yourself to over-the-counter medicines. Observe your reaction to various treatments and stop those which have negative impact on your skin.
