Women have plenty of concerns connected with masturbation and self-pleasing. Men have no problems with talking with others about their solo sexual activity, girls find it intimidating to talk about that but sometimes they take some pleasure in exchanging experiences with their best friends.

On the contrary, sex therapists claim that masturbation should be a common topic of conversation among girlfriends. Female masturbation can bring plenty of benefits for both health and relationship.
Various forms
Masturbation can take many forms, and most women have masturbated at least once in their life. You cannot say which masturbation is "normal" and in what age women usually do that. What is common to most of the women is that they feel guilty afterwards, especially those who are in relationships. But sex therapists claim there's no need to feel guilty. Sometimes a partner is unavailable and it doesn't mean woman tries to switch into solo sexual life.
When we think about "normal" masturbation we believe it includes the whole range of masturbation forms. Usually women use fingers or vibrators but some of them use the back of a vibrating toothbrush head or water jets. Some experts claim that the use of vibrators may cause genital pain or numbness but only one third of women who took part in the survey claim they have experiences them. However, Frank Sommers who's a psychiatrist warns women can be less sensitive to orgasms with a partner. "Your nervous system reacts to stimulation which can't be repeated by a human", he says.
Improves your mood
Masturbation improves women's mood, no matter what form is chosen. According to Kathleen Segraves, PhD and a sex therapist at Metrohealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, masturbation can improve a depressed mood, not a clinical depression but those bad days you have from time to time. While solo sexual activity you don't have to think about the other half, you just focus on yourself and let yourself have no distractions. The woman isn't concerned if she takes too long before she reaches her orgasm. It's just her having good time. Sometimes, such an attitude to sex is needed and it doesn't mean you don't love your partner.
Sexual life with a partner
Masturbation builds sexual confidence and teaches women what gives them pleasure. Women who masturbate systematically find it easier to guide their partners and are not embarrassed that they do that. Those who use a vibrator during masturbation usually have better functioning with their partners. Usually, sex therapists recommend masturbation for women who find it difficult to reach orgasms - they can learn about their bodies and become less conscious about themselves. Women usually find it more difficult to learn to orgasm, and masturbating with a vibrator can help a lot - using vibrator helps women reach orgasms. The survey published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine revealed that those who masturbate with the vibrator have better vaginal lubricating, feel stronger desire, are aroused quicker and find orgasms easy to reach. They also feel less pain or discomfort during the intercourse.
Relaxation
Masturbation helps you relax and while women are more likely to analyze the day men tend to forget about that quicker. This leads to excess stress and sex and masturbation helps to forget about thinking things over and over again.
Pain relief
Masturbation helps to relieve menstrual cramps and help overcome symptoms of PMS e.g. nervousness, irritability. Orgasm triggered by masturbation can even reduce migraine, but it may also start the headache.
