Is it true that women suffer more intense pain than men? Pain symptoms in women tend also be different than in men.
Is the feeling of pain more overwhelming for women? - there has always been a debate over this issue. Experts found new evidence that women suffer more, it has been presented in the study presented at the International Association for the Study of Pain in Glasgow. In the study scientists conclude that women generally face recurrent pain which lasts longer and is more severe than in men. In addition to that, pain felt by women is different, they have different symptoms for the same ailments and diseases.
A good example is that women suffering heart attack feel general pain in their shoulders and back, not a shooting pain in the chest and left arm. Gender also influences the moment in which you admit to pain. Moreover, due to hormonal cycle women suffer from migraines three times more often than men. Men are less likely admit to suffering from conditions perceived weaknesses, such as headache.
