Women can sigh with relief - scientists discovered hot flushes remedy. Nerve injections can stop hot flushes which change their lives into a nightmare. An injection in the neck is able to soothe hot flushes, symptoms of menopause which affect lots of women. They involve heat or sweating in the upper body.

The injection would able to block nerve signals which regulate temperature. Early results show that the procedure can be very successful, the number of flushes was reduced by 90 percent. Women also noticed reduction of awakenings. Flushes usually involve blood flowing to the skin and makes temperature higher and lead to blood vessels in the skin surface dilating, making cheeks rosy. Little is known about hot flushes, people believe they reduce levels of estrogen. Women find these symptoms stressful and affects various aspects of life. Some women find their flushes appear during stress, after drinking alcohol or eating spicy meals.
So far, scientists invented several treatments of hot flushes, e.g. HRT (causes bloating, weight gain, headaches and increased risk of cancer), antidepressants increase levels of serotonin (the risk of side effects). The new treatment is known as stellate ganglion nerve block. It also makes blood vessels narrower which reduces sweating and temperature.
