The economy affects almost every aspect of family lives, so it means it'll also affect health issues for both parents and children. So the economy will undoubtedly affect physical and mental health of parents and kids in 2009. What are health issues to watch?

The article tells what to expect in 2009 and how to overcome financial and health problems.
2009 will be the time of credit crunch, housing crisis, high unemployment rate, and thoughts about the lack of money and problems with catering for all family's needs. The recession leads to series of problematic things such as foreclosures of mortgages, being on a dole, cutting back on credit lines or paying off debt.
The most basic rent/mortgage, groceries, child care and heating may become problematic. With the recession going on children become hungry and become homeless, many families will buy cheap and unhealthy foods, they will also postpone check-ups, avoid medications and immunization even if it's crucial. Less dollars will be spent on scientific research and finding effective treatment for such disease as measles, tuberculosis, hunger and malaria.
Now it's important for the families to live on less and within the means as well as to avoid credits and loans. Children also need some help when going through difficult times, they are always aware of the tension parents feel. The best thing is to talk to the children and make them aware of what's going on in the family. You can always tell your children that you have limited amount of money in the budget. Honesty is crucial if parents want to maintain "healthy" atmosphere in the family. It's important to separate wants from needs, children need to learn that they have to deserve for things they truly want.
