Bad test results are often hidden for U.S. patients.

Doctors in the USA tend not to tell their patients about abnormal test results. This may have serious negative effects, e.g. postponing the treatment or hurting patient's chances to survive. Usually, this is a failure to diagnose which gathers most attacks and malpractice lawsuits. After the research performed across the country it turned out that doctors failed to inform patients 7.1 percent of the time. According to Dr. Lawrence Casalino, who led the study, doctors should have clear-cut rules about informing patients of test results. So if you assume no news are good news you may be totally wrong.
