Listening to music can help us find relief from headaches, loose several kilograms but we need to know what kind of music to listen so as to achieve desired results.

Music we listen to can calm us down, bring nice memories or cause aggression - a long lasting noise increases the stress level and blood pressure. Influence of music on subconsciousness

Marketing experts take advantage of the fact that the brain is very susceptible to music. They use music in shopping centers, restaurants where loud and rhythmical tunes are played. It stimulates people to walk quickly, lowers the tendency to think things over so we do shopping fast without paying too much attention to details. The same marketing activities are performed in fast food bars where music is fast to make us eat quickly and leave space for next clients. On the other hand, restaurants play calm and relaxing music, e.g. classical. It is meant to calm us down and have positive effect on digestive processes. Today, classical music is listened even by surgeons during their surgical procedures.

Effects of music on brain spheres

According to American scientists various types of music affect various parts of the brain. They claim that children who learn music achieve better results at school than those who don't. According to scientists from California Mozart's music influences our intelligence and work of the brain. Nevertheless, it's best when we play music to children. A German scientist Peter Schneider claims that learning to play musical instrument, sing, listening to records or just imagining the tune makes the cerebral cortex double its volume. He also discovered that musicians have twice as much cells in some brain areas than ordinary people whose work has nothing in common with music. The thing is that young children are susceptible to music - relaxing, calming music helps in building the brain and listening to such music during pregnancy makes the child talented in mathematics.

Music and stress

Music is used to treat various diseases e.g. frigidity in women and impotence in men. By using appropriate music we can increase or lower blood level, quicken or slow down the metabolism or stimulate the heart - beat. Music affects muscle tension and hormone production. The same brain parts which are responsible for feeling pain register sounds - that is why music acts as a painkiller. Baroque pieces are said to reduce stress by 20% and increase the concentration of hormones of growth which has a positive effect on blood circulation, strengthens the muscles, nervous system and metabolism of nerve cells and above all, it improves a general mental fitness.


What music to listen

Mozart - advised for pregnant women, has positive effect on the fetus. It makes the child develop better, be calm and relaxed. Mozart's music helps find relief from pain.

Instrumental music - perfect for learning. Calm and melodious tunes are ideal.

Hip hop and rock music - it's good when we want to exercise or go jogging, the energy of that kind of music enables to adapt your pace to the rhythm.

Relaxation music - makes our emotions placid, facilitates cooperation, transferring information, reduces stress.

Flute - calms down and soothes fears

Piano concerts - relax and help in organizing thoughts

Violin - comforts headaches, reduces migraine symptoms. It also helps in relaxation and achieving effective rest.
