Inappropriate waste management poses serious risk to our health. Both household and industrial waste can affect our life more than we can expect.

The economical development of many countries in the whole world means growth in service and consumption. It leads to the increase of amount of waste produced by people. Litter can be divided into organic and non organic. The first group contains such things as eggs, peelings, remnants of fruit and vegetables. The second group contains glass, metals, plastic and other things, including dangerous objects such as batteries, motor oils, fluorescent lamps, paint and lacquer packages or by date medicines.
We don't realize how detrimental all the waste gatherings e.g. garbage dumps can be for us and for the whole families. Organic substances which rot in the garbage dumps emit awful smells produced by the gases such as hydrogen sulphide or methane. Because of the fact that water is a natural solvent, rain rinses various substances from the heap of garbage, including those dangerous ones. The liquids get into the soil and groundwater from where it is transferred into the drinking water. This way all dangerous substances can move from garbage dumps to very remote places and cause water and soil contamination there.
Apart from that, those illegal garbage dumps destroy the beauty of our surrounding and make walks in nature useless. That is why we should avoid dropping litter everywhere.
