Feng shui is an art of organizing and decorating homes so as the every day surrounding produced the most positive influence on somebody's life. Friendly surrounding

It may be difficult to change the surrounding of your home, especially when you live in a bock of flats, but you can always change the interiors. Feng shui experts use so called "bagua", eight diagrams representing a range of interrelated concepts, in order to organize the home properly. With bagua they can assess home's strengths and weaknesses and decide what techniques should be used to make the surrounding friendlier.

Door invite friends

Begin with the doors, they should be solid with a shiny knob. It must attract friends but scare off enemies. The hall should also look inviting: remove all unnecessary clothes and shoes because it brings bad connotations. You can hang small bells which will become your home's guards.

Bedroom

According to feng shui belief bedroom is the most important place at home, we spend one third of our lives there. It' a place for resting so this room should be accessible only for household members and be an oasis of peace and intimacy. Bedroom shouldn't be a junk room, pay attention to the space below the bed, door shouldn't creak. Put your TV set, telephone, personal stereo and computer somewhere else. Do you know that you get stressed when you can't see the door when lying in bed? On the other hand, it isn't good either when somebody bumps on you on entering the room. If it's the room for two make sure this relationship is visible at first glance. Highlight everything what's paired, double cabinets, double lamps, double cushions or other ornaments. Hang a picture presenting a man and woman or two flowers. Both two partners should have a free access to the bed. Nothing should divide partners when sleeping, no beams, cracks on a ceiling, no space between the mattraces. If you decide on making changes, ask a partner about his opinion, the bedroom is for two, it's not your own kingdom.

Mirror

Put funny and colorful paintings in your dining room - it's unhealthy to eat among sad and dark pictures. Pay attention to the shape of your table - asymmetry facilitates quarrels and rows. Invest in some inspiring painting - it can be an exotic landscape or a painting of happy people - something that will stimulate dreaming. Avoid sharp edges, rounded ones are safer and prettier. Sharp edges of walls, furniture and objects emit bad energy. They can be hidden under kilims, coverlets, throws or rambling plants. Don't get too overexcited though, when you look at plenty of tangled up twigs you can feel trapped. The room can be enhanced with mirrors, which enlarge the room and reflect the lights. The bigger mirrors, the better, however, they shouldn't be divided. It's advisable to use them in the kitchen (give a feeling of prosperity) and should be avoided in bedrooms. Most importantly, they shouldn't reflect the unpaid bills lying on a shelf.

Helpful gadgets

If you suffer from such complaints as sleeping disorders, anxiousness, fastened heart beat, sweating, it can be caused by detrimental geopathic radiation. Water-finders can help - they will find the source of your problem, install objects which eliminate radiation. Make sure your home is full of natural materials such as wood, natural stones, straw and sea weed produce, leather and woolen carpets. Shops with feng-shui accessories offer a pyramid - it can be hung in a place where household members relax. Reduce the number of electrical appliances in your surrounding. They are a source of cations, ions which deteriorate the air quality at home and have a negative influence on our mood. They are produced by all objects made of plastic and unnatural materials. All you have to do is to increase the number of negative ions which make the organism resistant to stress and tiredness. Salt lamps are perfect ionizers, its effect is even better because the light bulb warms salt crystals. To comparison, an amber lamp soothes the nerves. All plants produce negative ions so each home shouldn't lack them.

Colors

Red is the most energetic color - it strengthens physical and mental activity. However, it triggers excess excitement or even aggression. Put red objects in your bedroom if you want to increase your sex appeal but avoid reds when having nightmares. Yellow, brown, beige are colors of stability, warmth and inspiration. They favor attempt in reaching common goals, socializing, still, they can cause excess concentration on goals and narrowing the horizon. Orange triggers optimism, amuses, eliminates pessimism and discouragement. White is color ideal for work and relaxation, it ensures balance in the organism and surrounding so it can strengthen the bond between the partners. Blue color calms down, facilitates recovery, but it is a cold color. The same applies to violet, although it reduces the hatred, fury, nervousness and fear. Black is a symbol of death and sadness, green favors concentration and perception, it's ideal for tired eyes.

Music, smells

If you match appropriate colors with proper sounds you will surely relax. Quiet tunes which have a similar rhythm to your heart beat and breath relax the most. It's also soothing to listen to the sounds repeated in the same manner and way (mantra). High and low tones are annoying. Moreover, your mood and health can be enhanced with aromatherapy, essential oils are extracted from various parts of natural plants. You need only 5 droplets for one use.

Don't forget about the strength of stones, it's always advisable to have them at home. For instance, jade brings balance to the whole organism, it ensures deep and calm sleep. Chrysoprase triggers energy and increases self-confidence. Desert rose provides the feeling of safety, certainty, a feeling that everything is under control. Diamonds will do nothing unless you change from Cinderella into a queen of your beautiful home.
