There are several health problems that can occur while flying. Stiffness, swollen legs and jet lag are most popular among them. How can you cope with that?

What should you do to have a successful and flight without problems?
SWOLLEN LEGS
Sitting in an airplane for many hours favors development of venous thrombosis, a disease which occurs after a long journey by plane. Sitting still for several hours results in reducing the blood flow what can lead to creation of intravascular clots.
Consequently, legs become swollen, heavy and painful. Since there's not enough space between the armchairs on a plane it's very difficult to unbend your legs.
To avoid having swollen and painful legs after a long flight you can use products which alter blood circulation. Before a longer than 3 hours flight it's advisable to ask your doctor for an injection with a substance that prevents from blood clotting.
That's especially crucial for people with blood circulation problems and varices. You'll also feel more comfortable if you wear loose clothing. Take off the shoes so as your feet wouldn't be squeezed. Walk on board or place feet on a rolled blanket that lies on floor. This will make your blood circulate faster.
STIFF NECK
Usually, chairs in a plane can't be set to adjust your spine.
When you spend several hours in the same position your neck becomes stiff and painful.During the flight try to move your head up and down so as to activate the muscles of the neck. If you intend to have a nap on the deck, take a pillow in the shape of a bagel. When you fall asleep your head won't fall to the sides, such a pillow holds your neck perfectly. In other words, you won't suffer from neck aches afterwards.
JET LAG
After a long flight you finally landed but instead of enjoying great views or new places you are tired. You feel irritated, your organism can't cope with the amount of changes you've made.
If you plan visiting a remote country you should sleep well the night before the journey. On board, avoid coffee, alcohol which stimulates organism too much. Drink plenty of water instead, since dehydration makes adapting to a new environment more difficult. If you stay in a hotel with a different time zone eat breakfast even though you don't feel like eating. It's a signal for your body that it's high time to begin a new day. You will adjust the organism to the new time. Of course, if your plane lands at night try to sleep immediately afterwards, take some tranquilizer or a sleeping pill.
DEHYDRATION
During the flight your skin will suffer from dehydration. It's just after several minutes that your skin gets dry and scaly. If it's a longer flight skin tissue looses 30% of water. The signal of dehydration you will surely face is a feeling as though you had sand under your eyelids, your eyes get unnaturally dry.
Drink still mineral water during the whole flight which will hydrate your organism and above all, skin. Take thermal water in aerosol to moisture the face. Remember though to have it in a bottle smaller than 100ml because larger bottles with liquids are forbidden. You can also take eye drops that will prevent eyes from itching. If you wear contact lenses, change them into the gel ones which won't cause eye dehydration.
PRESSURE IN THE EAR
Pressure in the air during the flight is much lower than this on the ground. It improves rapidly when the plane lands, your ear drums are squeezed and you barely can hear anything. It frequently happens that you suffer from this condition during the whole flight, that's because of the pressure fluctuations.
There are several activities that will help you forget about blocked ears e.g. chewing gum, yawning, swallowing. These activities will cause that you stop feeling pressure fluctuations. There's also one method you can try. This one involves squeezing your nose with two fingers and blowing with closed mouth. This will open the medium ear and make you hear better. You can also use silicone sticks to clean the ears after the flight. They usually have special filters that keep the air pressure on appropriate levels.
