What are the benefits of jogging? It has plenty of advantages not only for our health but also for the look. Moreover, jogging brings mental profits such as good mood or satisfaction. Read the article and learn about the benefits of jogging.






Jogging is a sport performed by plenty of people, regardless of their age or gender. Americans are famous for their love for jogging, people jog almost everywhere, in the streets, parks etc. Why is it good to take up jogging?

Physical activity is really important in life of every person, no matter it's a teenager or an adult. Not only does sport ensure slim figure but also influences our health, mood and state of mind. People who regularly involve in some fitness training are inured and resistant to various diseases, especially in times of increased risk. It is important to mention that physical activity can help us prevent from serious diseases such as obesity, hypertension, heart diseases, osteoporosis or diabetes type 2.

Jogging, as other sports, can be a solution to all our problems. What benefits can we find in practicing jogging?

- it turns out that people who practice jogging are rarely affected by depression, that's because our organism produces endorphins, hormone of happiness after exercising. Moreover, it is a perfect way to get rid of stress and a healthy way to remove anger, irritation and nervousness. A morning jogging will give us as much energy as a morning cup of coffee so we can resign from caffeine easily. Sport is able to give enough strength to cope with everyday problems and challenges.

-running increases our breath efficiency and influences the heart condition. Its capacity increases up to 1000-1400 cm3, whereas in people who don't practice any sport it amounts to around 600-700 cm3. The difference is significant and we will surely feel better, become less tired and have a strong heart.

-the fact that jogging has a salutary influence on our figure can't be omitted. It is possible to burn around 900kcal within an hour of jogging. It is an impressive result especially when we want to loose several kilograms. Not only will jogging help us loose fat but it will also strengthen muscles, especially those of lower limbs and buttocks. We will slim our figure, skin will look healthy and younger, its elasticity will increase and it will be well-blooded. Physical activity has a positive influence on nourishment of tissues, it also fastens metabolism and makes its unnecessary by-products removed quicker. Above all, thank to the appropriate blood circulation tissues are oxygenated. This type of sport makes it possible to burn excess fat from the organism.

-we feel and look younger. Jogging can make us couple years younger. Our biological age, which deosn't have to equal to the real one will be lowered, we will be simply fit. Such factors as smoking, alcohol abuse, poor diet and lack of physical activity make a person's biological age higher, for instance a person who is 40 years old in reality can be 50 due to her unhealthy lifestyle. Above all, we should eliminate risk factors, take care of ourself and take up some sports.

How should we start?

Jogging is meant for persistent people, for those who like being challenged. We need to have plenty of perseverance in order to push ourselves to the effort and cover longer distances. Jogging with a group of friends enhances motivation, stimulates to the effort. However, we should remember about the contraindications against jogging. These include such diseases as ischemic heart disease, valvar abnormalities (acquired and congenital), especially cyanotic heart rhythm disorders, heart failure, enlargement of heart muscle, hypertension and other diseases along with excess obesity (BMI higher than 40), glomerulonephritis and acute inflammations.

How to begin?

All we need for jogging are comfortable shoes and clothes. It is a basic and essential equipment of each jogger. Obviously, there are plenty of gadgets which can help us control certain parameters while running. You can choose from calorie counter or a distance meter. An optimal frequency of running is every 2-3 days, we don't overstrain muscles. This way it isn't a shock for the organism. Remember not to overdo ourselves because pain the day after may dishearten us. A short warm-up and stretching exercises after jogging are definitely crucial. At the beginning it is good to run for 10 minutes and walk for the next 10. We should repeat this combination as many times as we can, it depends how fit we are. It is also important to drink water while jogging so as not to cause dehydration and avoid eating too much because we may feel sick while running.
