Which seeds are good for sprouting? How to sprout seeds? There are plenty of organic sprouts that have influence on our heath: flaxseed, sunflower, bean, brussels, broccoli or avocado. Read more about seed sprouting.





Sprouts are famous for their richness in vitamin C, B1, B6, D, E as well as calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc, lithium, selenium, biotin, potassium and chromium. They contain to the group of low-calorie products which aid loosing weight. Sprout are a great source of digestive enzymes which make protein and fatty acids more digestible. We enhance our immune system by eating plant sprout which are rich in vitamin C. The fiber they contain help to fight and keep a perfect silhouette. Sprout improve our mood, provide us with energy when we're tired or stressed. Their anti aging properties help to look young and good and put off aging. Broccoli sprout, for instance, protect the organism from getting cancer.

Which seed are perfect for sprouting?

Oat, rye and wheat seeds are good for sprouting. When it comes to legumes, we can use lentil, soy and chickpea. Other plants' seeds which are ideal for sprouting are: sunflower, bittercress, radish, red cabbage, beetroot, mustard, lucerne, flaxseed, broccoli and corn.

Sprouter

It is a special box for sprouting various seeds. It is very convenient container which has got several levels, which enables planting several types of seeds simultaneously. Sprouters contain special siphons which drain the water and regulate humidity, special fans ensure the free air flow and a container for excess water. The bottom of the sprouter has got a special structure which enables even and smooth location of seeds.

Gauze

You should take wide and shallow container on top of which a gauze will be placed held by the rubber band. Fill the container with warm water so as the middle of that gauze touched the water surface. Place the seeds around but not in the middle and make sure that the gauze is wet all the time.

Cellulose wadding

You can place the seeds onto the warm cellulose wadding, this method is easy as you only have to water the wadding from time to time.

Your sprout should be ready within 2-7 days depending on the type of seed. Sprouting should take place in warm temperature but they should not be placed in a place exposed to sun fully.

Small sieve

Place the small sieve on the top of the tea glass and fill the glass with water, the sieve should barely touch the water surface. make sure that seeds are not covered by water as they will decay then. Change the water twice or three times a day.

Sprouts are very useful for cooking, you can add them to salads, pancakes, various stuffings or place them on sandwiches, soups, sauces, pates and many other products. They make our meals attractive, diverse and above all improve the look oon our plates. You can buy seeds almost everywhere: in eco shops, gardening shops, supermarkets and online stores.

Broccoli sprouts

They contain even 30 percent more antioxidants than broccoli flower heads. They are rich in vitamins A, C, PP, their spicy taste makes them a perfect component of many types of salads.

Wheat sprouts

They contain plenty of iron and calcium as well as niacin and thiamine.

Raddish sprouts

This type of sprout is spicy and of a very distinct taste, they are rich in vitamin C and sulphur which improves skin and hari condition.

Lentil sprout

Rich in folic acid they are sweet and delicate.

Soy sprout

They contain plenty of iron, vitamin C and B1 and almost 40% of protein.

Red cabbage sprout

They are great antioxidants.

Lucerne sprout

They lower cholesterol levels, contain vitamin B12 and iron so they are good in combating anemia.

Bittercress sprout

They reduce the blood sugar levels, that is why cress is advised for patients with diabetes. They are rich in vitamin B1, B2 and PP as well as potassium and magnesium.

Sunflower sprout

They are rich in phosphorus, zinc, calcium and iron which strengthen teeth and bones. Their taste is similar to the taste of nuts, they are perfect for vegetarians.

Those who don't want to waste their time and energy on home made sprout cultivation can buy ready made products in supermarkets. You should remember though to eat them as quickly as possible as they need to be consumed fresh.

Sprout are a vitamin bomb which is not only healthy but also delicious. It is worth trying them and complementing our daily meals with this rich in vitamins product. They will make our skin radiant and fresh, hair and nails strong and our figures next to perfect. Their properties improve digestion, strengthen our immune system and prevent from various diseases.
