According to Chinese believes, macrobiotic diet which includes healthy foods is able to cure various diseases such as cancer. It provides the organism with essential substances that makes us feel good and look well.





We should try to reach health, calmness, inner harmony and peace in our life as well as in our diet. Macrobiotic diet concentrates on achieving this goal. It is based on Chinese yin-yang philosophy which believes that the world, a human body being a part of it, is created by two contradicting and complementing each other powers, YIN and YANG (harmony and unity). A balance between those two ensures good health and good mood, whereas the advantage of one power over another leads to various diseases. The balance can be regained through the proper diet which includes products that help cleanse the organism and provide substances essential for growing and building new cells and tissues. It also provides the organism with energy which is needed for all life processes.

Everyday diet should contain various products, which increase the chance that your organism will receive all essential nutrients. We should eat products which are natural, not processed or tinned, most of the foods should be consumed raw, other slightly cooked. We should avoid meals which are fried or grilled. In macrobiotic diet, half of the food should contain meals made of seeds, they are a base of all the dishes, we should eat at least 2-3 portions every day. Fiber sates appetite and ensures appropriate metabolism. Fruit and vegetables are other products which are very important in macrobiotic diet. Those which grow in our climate zone are said to be the best. We should consume at least 5 portions of vegetables and 1 portion of fruit, they are also a good source of fiber. They should make up 30% of our food.

Leguminous plants provide us with calories which aren't fattening: beans, broad bean, peas, soy (this non-genetically modified). It is crucial to eat vegetable soups every day, regardless the season, especially cucumber, tomato, cabbage soup or bean, vegetable soup. Use olive oil or plant oils e.g. sunflower oil, grape seed oils for frying.

A strict macrobiotic diet warns us against consuming too much meat and cold meats. It suggests other diary products instead, e.g. leguminous plants, eggs and fish. There is a great protein and fatty acids source in tuna pieces dried in sea salt, they are called bonito. You can buy them in shops with organic produce. Macrobiotic diet involves consumption of plenty of dairy products: cottage cheese, milk, yogurt as they provide the organism with calcium and protein important for creating bones and muscles.

We should also remember to drink 2 liters of various drinks, it can be a mineral water, there's a huge choice of mineral water in shops. We cam also drink fruit tea, black or green tea and above we should remember that inappropriate diet may result in various diseases.
