Belgian endive is a great natural product which helps in loosing weight. Salads with Belgian endive or simply grilled vegetable can help in gaining slim and beautiful figure.





The bitterness of chicory or Belgian endive is a real treasure. It is caused by substances which help in achieving a desired figure.

Endive, chicory or witloof (name depends on a country) is an ally in dieting because it contains manganese. Thank to this element chicory facilitates digesting and helps the organism in fat metabolism and absorption of nutrients. It is a cream-colored vegetable with bitter leaves, their taste is formed by two substances which stimulate liver to an increased production of bile. Endive can be also described as a guard of a perfect figure because it stimulates production of gastric juice. It improves digestion and prevents from flatulence which make a belly look fat.

Light salads which contain chicory will make the skin delicate thank to the beta carotene it contains, only 2 heads of the vegetable provide human organism with the daily demand for beta carotene. Then, it is transformed into vitamin A, thank to which skin tissue functions properly: builds and protects cell membranes. Apart from that, vitamin A is a strong antioxidant which makes skin look young for a long time, protects it from the attack of free radicals responsible for creation of wrinkles. Moreover, it helps skin fight with various problems, it mitigates skin irritation and enhances healing acne and psoriasis.

The inner part of chicory is the most bitter, it should be rinsed before cutting or else it looses its important bitter content.

One head of chicory contains 31 kcal.

It fulfills daily demand for:
- vitamin A in 49%
- vitamin C in 9%
- folic acid in 29%
- manganese in 11%
- fiber in 5%
