What does the treatment look like?
The diagnosis and information that a patient has got mesothelioma is usually shocking for the whole family. Due to the fact that this disease is diagnosed in its advanced form it frequently happens that it had already metastized. The treatment depends on the stage of the disease, its placement and the general state of health of the person. The treatment sometimes involves a surgical procedure: a tissue or organ affected by the disease is removed. Most of the patients are treated with the radiation and chemotherapy. Radiotherapy is a therapy of high-energy rays while chemotherapy is the the therapy which uses drugs to kill cancer cells. The latter is done in injections or intravenously.
