Description of disease:

Urethritis is an inflammation of urethra caused by various etiological factors. The disease belongs to the group of sexually transmitted diseases and can be divided into gonorrheal inflammation of the urethra or non-gonorrheal urethritis.

The complications rarely occur if the patient treats the disease. Men may get inflammation of testicles or epidydimis, in case of gonorrhea they may get prostate inflammation. Gonorrhea in women however gives no symptoms for a long time and develops in mucous membranes of uterus and pelvis organs.

Reiter syndrome is responsible for frequent urethritis.
