Tubular - interstitial nephritis is a disease triggered by bacteria, some drugs or heavy metals intoxication. It develops on interstitial and renal tubules. The disease is usually diagnosed after a detailed history and examination. Laboratory tests such as urography, USG are helpful in diagnosis. Biopsy of the kidney is sometimes needed in case of acute tubular-interstitial nephritis which is not caused by bacteria. Urography is done in people with recurring bacterial tubular-interstitial nephritis.
