Description of disease:

Solar urticaria or simply SU is an allergic disease typical for summer. It is characterized by appearance of wheals that are similar to the signs of nettle burn. The wheals appear quickly, trigger severe itching, last for several hours and disappear without living any signs on skin. Lesions begin in spring and last through the whole summer, the intensity varies depending on the person. It usually lasts long, for about 5 years or even through the whole life. The most susceptible group are women between the ages of 20 and 35.
