Description of disease:

Psoriasis is a chronic disease that affects skin which is marked by the appearance of plaques, the areas of inflammation. They are red, flat, silvery-white patches with skin that peels. Psoriasis isn't contagious, it appears and recurs without any medical intervention.
The skin patches are most common in the areas of elbows and knees but also on scalp, genitals, butts and nails.
Psoriasis of nails appears as horizontal or vertical lines that look like grooves or it takes the form of yellow stains which look similar to drops of oil.
