Description of disease:

Lichen planus is a common, chronic disease of skin, nails and mucous membranes. Lichen planus symptoms include itchy red-purple bumps on skin. The disease occurs in people aged between 30 and 60.

Lichen planus types:
- hypertrophic lichen planus - appears on the skin of lower legs
- follicular lichen planus - the bumps are located around the follicles
- atrophic lichen planus - is in a shape of a circle with the inside of normal skin
- vesicular lichen planus - the rash is located on feet and hands (due to mechanical abrasions) and in the mucous membranes
