Jaundice is a condition associated with the hepatitis A, B or C. Jaundice spreads through infected food, water and blood or during sexual contacts. It can be prevented with the appropriate vaccinations. The most severe type of jaundice is the type C which can cause cirrhosis or liver neoplasm. The disease develops for many years and may break out late after the infection. It usually occurs among medical staff, infecting an infant at the child birth is very rare but possible. There is no preventive vaccination for this type of jaundice yet but it is expected to be invented by 2015.
