Description of disease:

Hypoparathyroidism is a rare disease marked by the decreased production of parathyroid hormone (PTH). PTH is responsible for the calcium and phosphorus balance in the organism. The disease means that the blood calcium level is too low while the phosphorus blood level is too high.
Symptoms include muscle cramps, limb distortion, breathlessness or even convulsions.
If it is a chronic disease it may cause mental retardation in children and psychological disorders in adults.
