Description of disease:

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy or Idiopathic hypertrophic subaortic stenosis is genetically induced disease marked by the thickening of the heart muscle. The heart muscle thickens asymmetrically as the septum grows between the lower chambers and ventricles.
The symptoms may occur at young age as well as in the adulthood.
Most people with hyper trophic cardiomyopathy can live normal life but they need to be under constant observation of the cardiologist. There is some risk of complications though, these may include:
- sudden heart attack
- a stroke
- heart failure

Symptoms:


chest tightness
dizziness
dyspnea, breathlessness
fainting and syncope
reduced activity
tachycardia (rapid beating of the heart)
