Description of disease:

Primary hyperparathyroidism is associated with the tumors of the parathyroid glands which cause overproduction of parathyroid hormones (PTH). PTH's role is to maintain the correct level of calcium and phosphorus in the organism.
During the disease the parathyroid glands produce too much PTH and the levels of calcium are increased. That can cause several complications:
- brain disorders
- coma
- renal calculosis
- peptic ulcers
- pancreatitis
- prone to fractures bones
- bone atrophy

Hyperparathyroidism treatment consists surgical removal of the adenoma, prognoses are optimistic.

Symptoms:


abdominal pain
coma
fatigue and exhaustion
fractures
frequent urination
muscle weakness
nausea and vomitting
polidipsia (increased thirst)
