Description of disease:

Diaphragmatic hernia is a disease which is characterized by the abnormal opening in the diaphragm. As a result, the upper part of stomach backs up to the chest. People with diaphragmatic hernia are more likely to suffer from reflux disease. The diagnose is done thank to endoscopy and contrast radiology tests.
The treatment includes taking medications and eating small portions of food. Traditional surgery or surgery by laparoscopic means may sometimes be essential as a large opening in the diaphragm cannot be completely cured with medications.

Risk factors:
-congenital connective tissue disorder
-prolonged cough
-some sports
-weightlifting
-frequent constipations with tenesmus
-obesity

Symptoms:


back ache
chest tightness
constipation
eructation, burping, belching
heartburn
upper abdomen pains
vomiting

Contrast x-ray fluoroscopy
