/ Acromegaly

Description of disease:
 Acromegaly is also called pituitary gigantism.
Acromegaly and gigantism also called extremities and enlargement is a hormonal disorder caused by an excessive amount of Growth Hormone (GH) productions. It is often a consequence of over activity of pituitary gland, which is present in hypothalamus.
The disease is more common for middle-aged adults whose bones had already developed and grown. If the disease is diagnosed in children it is often called gigantism, which is very similar. Gigantism is an overgrowth of bones and cartilage.
Acromegaly develops slowly and it should be treated as it can have some serious consequences such as high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, or arthritis.
Symptoms:

constipation decreased libido excessive sweating hands and feet enlargement headache hypertension impotence interior organs enlargement menstruation disorders nose enlargement pain in joints vision problems
